Johanna Faust, a mixed race Jew, prefers to publish pseudonymously. She is committed: first, to preventing war, ecological disaster, and nuclear apocalypse; last to not only fighting for personal privacy & the freedom of information, but, by representing herself as a soldier in that fight, to exhorting others to do the same. She is a poet, always. Without a legal recognition of the right to digital self-ownership, this resulting 'person' must not exist. As Negativland nears the finish line on an ambitious pair of interconnected albums of all new content (a project begun over ten years ago, and including material that dates back to the earliest workings of the group), there is a track from the second album that is asking to be heard sooner rather than later.
