From Yoshimi Takashi Hikosaka's blog, from the human beings bearing the brunt of this environmental catastrophe, comes this request, entreating the government of Japan and, I think, governments everywhere:
I came across this when researching the recent 'gag order' on bulletin boards and internet posts issued by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, "Affiliate Request to telecom operators on the appropriate response to the false rumors on the Internet pertaining to East earthquake." As far as I can tell, that was seeking to use hate crime laws to halt the spread of information about the nuclear situation of which the government did not approve. (links: Japanese, English). I could be wrong.... wanting to know more about it, I selected the name of the newly established working group, "working team to ensure safety measures... in the affected areas to ensure safety," in its original script, and fed it into google to see if any of the results were blogs.
This is how I found Yoshimi Takashi Hikosaka the "200-D of art" -- and his post on the above is worth the read indeed.
Then I saw the above. I hope it achieves its intended result. I am wondering, is public lack of access to radiation measurements implied here? For people that close to the exclusion zone? I know the government is not forcing evacuation outside of 20 km -- but are they tacitly prohibiting it? I wish I had a better translation!
Here is the original. Please drop a line in the comments should you be able to shed light upon any of this.
