What if they warned us before the slightest environmental impact? Looked after us? Were patient with us as we faced our fears? Actually attempted to prevent, predict, monitor, and mitigate the situations into which it has allowed (luresd? blackmailed?) all mankind? What if it realized what an ongoing bad idea it was and got out?
Hmm.
Would we believe them is an understatement.
