Johanna Faust, a mixed race Jew, prefers to publish pseudonymously. She is committed: first, to preventing war, ecological disaster, and nuclear apocalypse; last to not only fighting for personal privacy & the freedom of information, but, by representing herself as a soldier in that fight, to exhorting others to do the same. She is a poet, always. All these efforts find representation here: "ah, Mephistophelis" is so named after the last line of Christopher Marlowe's Dr. Faustus, whose heretical success flouted the censor for a time.

the comment-posting-mechanism is functional once more.

that is all.

oh -- and may i add, i hope it stays that way.

i had no idea it was so broken.  sheesh.  i had to hack to leave a comment myself.

my hack?  adding "?postComment.do" at the end of the address of the post at which I desired to leave a comment.  So kind of you to ask.  Excellent idea:  I'll add it to the hacks page straightaway.  Thank you and --

Another Creepy Service From The Trapwire Corporate Family -- NEXTBUS?

Alternate title for graphic as well as post: Invasion of the Privacy Snatchers.

In case you haven’t heard, a company called TrapWire has been analysing and storing data collected from High Value Targets – stadiums, monuments, power plants, tourist spots – all across America, as well as in Canada, the UK, and the rest of the developed world.

TrapWire’s board of directors reads like a who’s who from the intelligence industry.  Of the tech, the claim “better than facial recognition” was made in 2005.  If this is uncomfortably close to science fiction, then the goals have already crossed over, specifically, into the most popularized scenarios from Minority Report.  The TrapWire family of companies is creepier still.  And, making my hair stand on end, the local evidence of these shenanigans is straight out of Invasion of the Body Snatchers.

Specifically, the municipal transportation systems of Santa Mira, where, if the buses and trains do not always run on time, I am pretty sure there’s an app that citizens can download onto their smartphones.  And if we don’t have smartphones?  How convenient – a system whereby, instead of waiting out in the cold, we can receive a text message, sent to where ever we happen to be, and so while we wait we can remain warm, comfortable, and… …safe.

It goes without saying, these days – or it should – that if you download information from the Panopticon, the Panopticon also downloads information from you.

So here in short order and probably not enough context.  We can reproduce the order I instructed a dear friend of mine to follow, for lack of a more convenient model.

Do a search for (not in quotes) SURVEILLANCE BETTER THAN FACIAL RECOGNITION. The first article to come up should be Russia Today. Here is  some of the best bits, with a link, of course.

What is believed to be a partnering agreement included in the Stratfor files from August 13, 2009 indicates that they signed a contract with Abraxas to provide them with analysis and reports of their TrapWire system (pdf).

“Suspicious activity reports from all facilities on the TrapWire network are aggregated in a central database and run through a rules engine that searches for patterns indicative of terrorist surveillance operations and other attack preparations,” Crime and Justice International magazine explains in a 2006 article on the program, one of the few publically circulated on the Abraxas product (pdf). “Any patterns detected – links among individuals, vehicles or activities – will be reported back to each affected facility. This information can also be shared with law enforcement organizations, enabling them to begin investigations into the suspected surveillance cell.”

In a 2005 interview with The Entrepreneur Center, Abraxas founder Richard “Hollis” Helms said his signature product “can collect information about people and vehicles that is more accurate than facial recognition, draw patterns, and do threat assessments of areas that may be under observation from terrorists.” He calls it “a proprietary technology designed to protect critical national infrastructure from a terrorist attack by detecting the pre-attack activities of the terrorist and enabling law enforcement to investigate and engage the terrorist long before an attack is executed,” and that, “The beauty of it is that we can protect an infinite number of facilities just as efficiently as we can one and we push information out to local law authorities automatically.”

An internal email from early 2011 included in the Global Intelligence Files has Stratfor’s Burton allegedly saying the program can be used to “[walk] back and track the suspects from the get go w/facial recognition software.”

Since its inception, TrapWire has been implemented in most major American cities at selected high value targets (HVTs) and has appeared abroad as well. The iWatch monitoring system adopted by the Los Angeles Police Department (pdf) works in conjunction with TrapWire, as does the District of Columbia and the "See Something, Say Something" program conducted by law enforcement in New York City, which had 500 surveillance cameras linked to the system in 2010. Private properties including Las Vegas, Nevada casinos have subscribed to the system. The State of Texas reportedly spent half a million dollars with an additional annual licensing fee of $150,000 to employ TrapWire, and the Pentagon and other military facilities have allegedly signed on as well.

Then search for ROOTS ABRAXAS TRAPWIRE – but if you follow this blog perhaps you have already seen my post.  Here is a relevant bit, originally from Cryptome.

On 13 August 2012, Cubic Corporation released a press statement entitled "Cubic Corporation Has No Affiliation with Trapwire, Inc.", indicating that "Erroneous reports have linked the company with Trapwire, Inc.".
They further state that "Cubic Corporation (NYSE: CUB) acquired Abraxas Corporation on December 20, 2010. Abraxas Corporation then and now has no affiliation with Abraxas Applications now known as Trapwire, Inc."
However, as the merger agreement and subsequent exhibits in Cubic Corporations SEC filings, available below, show, Cubic Corporation also acquired Abraxas Dauntless as part of their merger-acquisition of Abraxas Corporation. Abraxas Dauntless is a wholly owned subsidiary of Abraxas Corporation, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Cubic Corporation.

And now, the creepy part.  There is a service ‘round these parts, maybe where you are too.  It is called NextBus, and, in their own words,
From the comfort and security of a protected place, they can learn when the next bus will arrive at your stop
And look at that! at the bottom of the page.

"From a protected place." "Where you are warm, and safe"

When you get a message from the Panopticon, the Panopticon also gets a message from you, or rather, your GPS enabled device.

I hear they also own the company that makes those cards that can be used on more than one type of transportation system.  Track you across train, bus, underground.

Be seeing you, and have a nice day.

March 28, 2011 Radiation Spike Mystery Solved

"A Boy and his Destiny, or, William Lucas Prepares To Give A Paper"
a faustian image manipulation
copyleft 2013

Remember those incredibly high radiation readings, luckily captured by screenshot, for the 28th of March?

Residents in and around Alabama are becoming quite uneasy with the most recent radiation level readings produced by the Rad network as they fear nuclear rain from the Japan – Fukushima crisis has hit U.S. soil. According to the Rad Network, anything over 100 CPM is cause for alert and today in northern Alabama, the radiation level hit 175! Now before you think the world is going to end or that you are going to die if you live in Alabama, you won’t. The radiation levels may be cause for an alert they are not high enough to kill anyone…yet. More than likely, the high radiation levels have nothing to do with Japan or the Fukushima disaster. Don’t go planning any doomsday parties as this is probably the result of a faulty reading. [I have included a screenshot of when the radiation levels were at 160 in Alabama]

Mystery solved in full.

It seems a certain bright young man, having just opted for a Geiger counter for Christmas, and having just signed up to be part of the crowd sourced Radiation Network, found his hands full after 3/11.  Then one day -- the 28th to be exact -- the readings went so nuts that Suits showed up at his house.  They took his piece of the network offline, but not before his father had had a chance to save the data.

And this incredibly smart young man did not stop there: he deduced that the readings came from the heavens -- a gamma ray burst -- and wrote to the British Interplanetary Society to see if he was right, only to find that he had discovered the burst himself.

No, really.

“We called British Interplanetary Society and they said ‘Oh this looks like your first,’" said Diana.

The 13 year-old had detected a Gamma Ray burst originating from a black hole 3.8 billion light years away from Earth and he was the first to do it.

"I just feel very happy that I was the first person to discover something," said the now 15 year-old, "but if it was anywhere closer to Earth we would be dead right now,” he continued.

His findings were verified; the burst was traced to the Draco Constellation and cataloged as 110328A. William calls it the Draco Kill Shot. He was later asked to speak before the Tennessee Valley Interstellar Workshop. Diana says luck had a little to do with his accomplishment, but only a little.

“He had to work to develop it and that's what I’m really proud about as a mother."

The Draco Kill Shot is considered to be the longest lasting Gamma Ray burst ever observed.

NRC "Intentionally Mischaracterized" Info To Conceal From Public, Say Whistleblowers

Relevant section begins with background info at 9:04, first mention of whistle blowers at 9:54.  But watch the whole thing and you will learn not only that the NRC knew in 1976 Mark 1 style containment vessels could leak -- even though they continue to assume in design and safety calculations that the probability of leakage is zero -- but you also may experience, as a bonus, the added satisfaction of  finding out that TepCo now quietly agrees that the explosion of Fukushima Unit 3 was a "detonation," even as they irrationally attribute it to hydrogen gas buildup in the basement.  Hydrogen is lighter than air.  Hydrogen explosions do not break the sound barrier: they are deflagrations, not detonations. Thanks to Fairewinds, and to their clear presentation of the relevant evidence, many suspect that only a detonation could be responsible for the damage to Unit 3. Prompt criticalities, even moderated ones, are detonations.

Newly Leaked Proof Of DHS Plan For Interment Camps On US Soil For US Citizens

This gives me chills. Specifically, I thought it looked familiar, so I look ed at the original, and saw it was dated February 2010.  I then proceeded to the video, and  got chills when I heard it was only recently leaked -- and I realized it loosely corroborates other materials discovered by mistake later that year.

From the information accompanying the video, Youtube:

Published on Mar 4, 2013

Internment camps for political dissidents in the U.S. aren't a conspiracy theory. The Department of Defense document entitled "INTERNMENT AND RESETTLEMENT OPERATIONS" or FM 3-39.40 proves this beyond a shadow of a doubt.

From my transcript of the video below:

The document outlines military procedures for internment and resettlement of civilians,
and it describes the layout and administration of these internment camps. It clearly states on page 38 that it applies within US territory, and it specifically addresses the detainment of US citizens, as is indicated by the identification procedures for new prisoners on page 146, which states that "social security numbers are to be recorded alongside their photograph and fingerprint.

Included in the list of organizations which may be involved in these internment operations are the Department of Homeland Security, FEMA, the Department of Defense, and the United Nations....
